Music Videos
A Story of Learning by Necessity
I grew up watching MTV when it was all music videos. The media exploded onto the scene in the mid-70's. But the equipment needed to film, edit, and publish a music video was cost prohibitive for small independent artists.
As computers arrived and improved, companies began creating affordable video-editing software. However, the best quality software was still out of reach for the average consumer.
I made my first serious video on Windows Movie-maker, for a Shadow Gallery song, With Honor. When Gary Wehrkamp approached me about creating videos for his Pink Floyd tribute Band ( he actually asked more than one artist) I said yes and that began an adventure in video editing.
I moved onto Cyberlink Power Director, and then onto the Adobe suite of Premiere, After Effects, and Audition-more difficult to learn, but very rewarding in the outcome.
I spent thousands of hours editing, and animating images and videos. Then I used my hard-earned knowledge to create my own music videos.
I reverted back to Cyberlink Power Director and use it exclusively today.
I created, edited, and published my latest video, Sunrise Child, in under 2 hours.
I discovered a new creative outlet and for awhile even made short promotional videos for a National Environmental Organization.
Video editing has since become one of my primary passions in life.
