Fisher Releases "Srebrenica"

August 13, 2026

On July 11, 1995, Serbian soldiers took command of the town of Srebrenica, Bosnia. Between July 11 and July 22nd of that year, Serbians committed genoocide by executing over 8,000 muslim men who lived in Srebrenica. The world was unaware of the atrocities until satellite images of the disturbed soil caused by excessive rainfall revealed the mass graves.

In 1999, Richard (Ricky)  Dean Fisher learned of the genocide and wrote a song for the saurvivors. He recorded the song on a cassette player, and  performed it live a few times, then forgot about it.

After watching the destruction of Gaza, Richard re-recorded  Srebrenica in July/August of 2026 as both a remembrance and a cautionary tale. The song was released on July 13, 2026 on Soundcloud. Srebrenica will be available on Spotify, YouTube and other streaming services on August 28, 2026.
